Post 2: The best holiday

Hello! Today I will talk about my best holiday. Is very difficult for me can choose one because I had have several favorites holydays in my life.

In January of two years ago, in 2017. My friend and I traveled by plane to Punta Arenas, here we start our journey!

First, we cross the Estrecho de Magallanes by ferry to Porvenir. We stayed at the house of a Friend that we meet in the Ferry, then of three days we hitchhike to the Chile border with Argentina. When we did complete customs formalities, we did hitchhike again to Ushuaia and we traveled 600 km approximately.

Ushuaia is a beautiful place, we visited the Martial Glacier and this experience was amazing and spectacular. Afterwards we cross the Beagle Channel on motorboat to Puerto Navarino. Here we were trekking for seven days in the Dientes de Navarino circuit. This was a unique experience and very extreme.

Finally, we returned to Santiago by plane the beginning of February.

I hope to return someday to this island!

A country I'd like to visit

 I love to travel to differents places. The first time that I traveled internationally, I was in Guatemala and it was exciting in many ways.  My dream is to travel around the world, for instance I would like to visit Mexico.

Mexico is a beautiful place with amazing  beaches and wonderful pyramids. I would like to learn about their culture and typical customs . If I lived in this country I will choose Cancun because I like the sea, the hot weather and I love swimming.

I have a lot of friend in this Country, my  best  friend live in Guadalajara and she always invited me to visit it. I really want to travell but I have no money in this moment.

In the year 2020 I would like to study one or two semesters in Guadalajara  or  Monterrey. This is very important to me because it is a very good experience and adventure. I really hope can do it.

Post 8: My blogging experience

Hi, today I am going to talk about my experience writing blogs in the English class.

I believe that this has been a very good experience because I have learned a lot about write in English.

In addition, it is an excellent activity because it allows me to know my classmates and share my experiences.

I like to read blogs from my classmates because they have funny and interesting stories. My favorite blog was the seventh post “a career related website” because I learned a lot about musical websites and they are very necessary for my professional career.

I am very happy because I feel that my writing skills have improved considerably. Now I can use more vocabulary and write fluently.

In the future I would like to include a comment from the teacher in each post to know what to improve or if it were possible to correct the text.

Furthermore, I personally like being able to choose a theme to talk in some post of the semester. For example: the best trip, the most interesting experience, my favorite movie, among others.

In conclusion, I think that write blogs have been very useful to progress in my learning English.

Post 7: A web site

One of my favorite websites is Petrucci Music Library, the link is http://www.imslp.org/. I usually use this web site because it has an extensive database of information relating to music scores. It have works, composers, performers and recordings.

The main page of IMSLP have different sections where you can search by composer name, nationality, time period, instrumentation and genre.

I think it is very necessary for my career and for the musician because all the pieces that we have to play in the instruments classes, the homework for the theory classes or the full scores that we need for the orchestra we can find it and download in the webpage.

I use this page at list two to three times a week. Currently I have to playing the second Beethoven sonata and the Boccherini cello concert and I am using the piano full score of both pieces and it were download from the page.

I consider that this library is very complete and was an excellent idea and work.

Post 6: Latin American Composer

Hello, today I`m going to talk about my favorite Latin American composer, Arturo Márquez. He is a composer and musician. He was born in Álamos, Sonora (Mexico) in 1950. Marquez’s father was a mariachi musician in Mexico and his paternal grandfather was a Mexican folk musician in Chihuaha.

At the age of 16 he started composing and then he studied piano and music theory in the Mexican Music Conservatory. Afterwards he studied composition with Federico Ibarra, Joaquín Gutiérrez Heras and Héctor Quintanar. Subsequently he got a scholarship to study a Master of Fine Arts in Composition in The Institute of Arts in Valencia, California.

Arturo Márquez had won several prestigious awards and honors. Some of them are The National Arts and Sciences award of Mexico, The Gold Medal of Fine Arts of Mexico, Mozart Medal by the Austrian embassy, among others.

I choose this composer because his music is very beautiful.  My favorites pieces are “Danzón no. 2” and “Conga del Fuego Nuevo”. I hope you like it!
